ALEOS AF Developer Studio (IDE)

This page contains the latest ALEOS Application Framework Developer Studio.

Note: AAF Developer Studio is not supported with ALEOS 4.16 or later ALEOS versions. For additional information contact https://www.sierrawireless.com/support/

ALEOS 4.3.4 has lots of enhancements that require a new version of the Developer Studio. Before starting with AAF, please check which version of ALEOS you are using and download the appropriate version of the Developer Studio. For new projects starting with the latest available releases of Developer Studio and ALEOS is recommended.

1) Working with ALEOS 4.3.4 and above

If you are on Windows, you should also download AirLink USB Ethernet Driver

Notes:

• If you are running a 64bit OS you must use the 64bit Java runtime environment. Check this by running 'java -version' on the command line, it will state if the 64bit variant is installed.
• The ALEOS AF Platform Package required in previous versions of Developer Studio is no longer needed.

2) Migrating to ALEOS 4.3.4 (or above) from ALEOS A4.3.4 (or below)

To migrate existing projects from Developer Studio 1.0.0 to 2.0.0, here are the steps you need to take:

• Download the Developer Studio 2.0.0 (see links above).
• Download the ALEOS 4.3.4 (http://www.sierrawireless.com/en/Support/Downloads.aspx)
• Import your existing projects into the new version of the IDE. (Use File > Imports... > General > Existing Projects into Workspace and give the path to your existing project.)
• Add the ALEOS 4.3.4 Execution environment in your project (see "Working with an Execution Environment in the Getting Started Tutorial).
• Perform the application exports (see "Installing the Application" and "Leverageing AirVantage" in the Getting Started Tutorial)

3) Working with ALEOS 4.3.3 or below

The original Developer Studio was paired with the ALEOS AF Platform Package. Follow this link ALEOS AF Platform Package after completing the installation of AAF Developer Studio 1.0.0.
