Release Changes

The following changes and improvements have been made in this release for the WP85xx Devices:

Meta-SWI

• Added support for Legato to curl
• Added support for LEGATO_SYSROOT in legato class
• Added support for Legato to zlib
• Enabled ssh port for ecm0 and bridge0 in IPTables
• Enable neighbor/router discovery in IPTables
• Enable PING and DHCP over ECM interface in IPTables
• Enabled UART2 as the default interface for Linux console in IPTables
• Moved the root hash of rootfs-squashfs into UBI volume of rootfs-UBI image
• Updated dependency of Legato on flash tools
• Disabled USB remote wakeup by default
• Resolved issue of failure to mount rootfs during stress tests
• Resolved a restart issue with /etc/init.d/usb
• Removed swicert from meta-swi
• Removed GDBserver from rootfs and into the Legato AF
• Improved the startup order of Legato to save on boot time

• Resolved issue of failing to read UHS SD cards

Known Issues

Limitations

ECM-USB/ModemManager issue on Ubuntu 16.04+ Ubuntu 16.04 and newer is default installed with modemManager version 1.4.12-1ubuntu1 which conflicts with the ECM-USB driver when connecting a target. 

ModemManager may cause the Ubuntu NetworkManager to crash on your host and/or your target device to become unavailable over USB. 

Symptoms: 

• NetworkManager crashing when plugging into your device over USB, or 
• The target device becomes inaccessible after 30 seconds. 

Recommended Work Around: 

• Uninstall modemManager from Ubuntu or 
• Downgrade modemManager to version 1.0.0-2ubuntu1 Version 1.0.0-2ubuntu1 of modem

Download modemmanager from Ubuntu.

Open Issues

• Hard-float support is not provided for WP8548-G 
• usb0 does not have a fixed mac address and changes after each reboot
• Not able to hot swap or hot plug SD IoT add-on cards on mangOH dev kit
